Code for Ukraine is a 12-month adaptation of Code.X’s flagship program, launched in July 2024 at Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv. Built on Code.X’s proven educational model, it equips students from war-affected and underserved backgrounds with essential skills in computer science, human-centered design, and project-based innovation.

Our Approach

More than two years into the full-scale war, Ukraine’s youth are facing a national crisis in education, economic stability, and emotional resilience. Thousands have been displaced, orphaned, or forced to grow up in unstable environments, suffering from educational and economic disadvantages and limiting their future prospects.

In response to this need, we created Code for Ukraine:

  • We prioritize students from orphanages, conflict zones, and low-income communities

  • We provide mentorship and community to counteract isolation

  • We teach future-ready skills—coding, design, critical thinking, and collaboration

  • We create a safe, supportive learning environment

The program focuses on empowering these young individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the digital age, preparing them for future career opportunities and enabling them to become agents of change within their communities.
