Code for Myanmar is a remotely taught 6-week summer camp for students locally hosted by the Chinbridge College in Chin State, Myanmar. The program provides introductory courses in computer science and design thinking, taught by Code.X volunteers from leading U.S. universities and technology companies.
Our Approach
Due to the limited ability for international instructors to teach in Myanmar, we committed to a remote learning model and adapted digital versions of our curriculum into a rigorous six-week program. This program represents one of the first structured computer science and design thinking curricula offered in Chin State, where technological literacy and access to formal computer science education remain limited.
We adapted our typical Year 1 Python and Design Thinking curriculum into a lecture-based format with two live classes each week over the six-week period. Local teaching staff at Chinbridge College supported students during class sessions and assisted with take-home activities and assignments.
Students participate in live lectures with Code.X instructors, watch lectures, complete graded homework assignments, and engage in in-person discussions and collaboration with their peers in the program.
