Code.X is a three-year Computer Science and Design Thinking program for high school students that empowers them to become changemakers in their communities. It leverages the talent and passion of students from Stanford University and affords them the opportunity to teach promising students in Code.X programs around the world.
Those classes were like a treasure for me
I learned how to think outside the box, how to be confident, how to be willing to take risks.

We operate in developing countries and within refugee communities, working through a country-by-country decentralized structure with local partners that act as owners of the program.
Code.X launched a pilot in 2015 and graduated its first cohort of students in from the full three year program last summer.
Our emphasis is on changing mindsets to grow students as change agents. By integrating computer science, design thinking, and cultural exposure, students gain not just technology skills, but also how to use those skills to identify and create solutions.
Code.X's three-year program focuses on quality of instruction and providing a life-changing experience; comprised of:
Separately, with each partner, Code.X also promotes the Hour of Code with Code.org in order to raise awareness, create interest in the program, and create links to the global tech community.
Inspire a drive for meaningful impact
Code.X’s emphasis on Design Thinking, coupled with long-term exposure to Stanford students, instills in students an action-oriented attitude for positive community change.
Generate interest and investment in technology education
Attracting students to the field of technology at an early age, and inspiring the organic creation of fully-local CS education programs.
Establish a standard for learning culture
Code.X has an intense focus on quality in order to set a standard for education programs, as well as instilling longer-term thinking around education and cultures of learning.
